My boy starts Grealish at left-wing over Rashford ... that's barking mad. This team will struggle to go anywhere like this. Grealish has to play, but he should be a 10, and given the entire field to do what he does best. Since we have Harry-drops-in-deep-to-collect-the-ball-Kane up top, we need ruthless pace on both sides of him, and that's why Rashford and Sterling make that list ahead of everyone else. As much as I like Sancho and Foden, they take the bench here. However, none of our wingers should go a full 90 minutes with the talent on the bench. There's also Mason Mount whose talent you can't deny. He's the one player I believe Southgate is not going to drop and will likely play him ahead of Grealish, which is idiotic. This England squad should honestly be centered around Grealish being the main creative force behind the striker and given the license to roam.

Mount is un-droppable the way he's playing right now. If you need to fit Foden in put him on the wing instead of Sterling, but Mount for me is second on the team sheet after Kane

Spencer keeps going on about how it's great that Southgate is picking players based on form, but then he himself says he's picking Sterling over Sancho because Sancho "hasn't hit the same heights recently". Ummm, let's look at that, shall we... Sterling 20/21 season: 39 games, 13 goals, 11 assists. Sancho 20/21 season: 31 games, 12 goals, 16 assists. ...1 less goal and 5 more assists in 8 fewer games seems pretty solid to me! And btw, I'm not saying Sterling should be dropped, I'm just saying you can't argue you're leaving Sancho out based on form. I'd personally start Sterling and Sancho and leave Foden to come on and spark the energy up as a super sub. Foden is brilliant, but Sancho has better stats this season whilst playing in a team that's far less dominant in their league; plus he has more experience and has proven he can do it reliably across a few seasons now.

If we go 4231 & the 3 in behind kane can interchange then rashford has to start man. 2 creative outlets alongside Sterling behind Kane ain’t killer enough imo. Rashford is a match winner. Raheem/grealish/foden/mount don’t quite have that ability to win a game on their ones. We’d be relying too much on Kane again for our goals. Rashford has Scary pace, teams have to set up differently against him.
